Alex MacDonald is primarily a Founder and Operator, having started his business Velocity Black in 2014.

He is also a part-time investor. Mkaing his first angel investment in 2015 in Syft, an online market place for temp recruitment which was acquired by Indeed in 2019, and as the first investor had a >20x return in 4 years. Since 2015 in my spare time he has made more than a dozen other investments at Pre-Seed and Seed stage in technology companies and is now also a limited partner in Speedinvest Fund III, one of the largest seed stage funds in Europe.

He started the newsletter with the goal of sharing some of the things he have learned since he started investing (both good and bad) and also to share insights on operating fast-growing technology companies.
